However, it is possible to do an autologous donation (donate your own blood for an upcoming surgery), which is already better than in most places in Europe. We are in the process of finding out if and how directed donations (for a specified person) are possible in Spain.\r\nPlease note, as clearly stated on our home page at the bottom and below here: There is no place yet in Spain, where you can donate uncontaminated blood<\/strong> or where you can get uncontaminated blood. We are working on establishing relationships with potential medical partners.\r\nIf you hear of a hospital or private clinic which allows the free choice of blood donor, please tell us immediately.\r\n\r\nWhat WE do:\r\n<\/strong>Our acting plans:<\/em>\r\nWe finally have an amazing local team for Spain, which is working very hard to try to find the most feasible way to reach our goal, the free choice of blood (and blood donor). This will happen though finding medical partners (hospitals, laboratory chains, private practices etc.), and most importantly, by trying to reduce the need for transfusions in general with clear advises for medical staff in our members\u2018 living will.<\/a>\r\nIf we can not find suitable partners, we will have to set up our own chain of places to donate and store blood (blood bank).\r\nA telegram channel for easy information will complement this page here.\r\n\r\nWhat YOU can do:<\/strong>\r\n\r\nIf you want to join us and help within the team, please contact us<\/a>.\r\nSpread the word, and most importantly, become a member<\/a> \u2013 because only together we are strong.\r\n\r\nPlease note that there are NO blood donation stations set up yet, nowhere in Spain, as we need medical partners for this purpose first. This will take some time. Check back here frequently and subscribe to our newsletter. <\/a>Please specify, when you sign up, whether you want the newsletter in spanish or english (or any other) language.\r\n\r\nIf you need blood NOW<\/strong>, because you have a scheduled surgery coming up, donate your own blood, if you are able to. If not, the closest option for us in Spain is to go to Africa, where many hospitals allow the free choice of blood donor. Go and do your surgery there, and don\u2019t forget to tell the local hospitals \u2013 they don\u2019t like to see money swimming away over the ocean ;-)\r\nWe are working hard on some east European countries, where we will have our first medical partners soon.
